geeky things #8 - making a flickr slide show

While the static band of photos (or badge) is fine and dandy, a slideshow of images has more visual energy.  If you have a bunch of photos in flickr and want only certain ones to be viewed, here are the steps to do so:

In flickr:
  1. Create a set of images, no more than 30 per group.
  2. Assign the same unique tag (descriptive word) to all of the images in that group. This is how you will be able to get those specific photos.  I discovered that the key words work better when they are enclosed in quotes = "keyword"

Next, in blogger
  1. Go into customize > page elements > add page element
  2. Click on "slideshow"
  3. Give it a title, if you wish
  4. Choose flickr as your "source"
  5. Type in the keyword, (I like to have the links open is a new window)
  6. Save changes
What you see in the right column are  3 separate slide shows created...
